Born at Arbroath, Scotland, son of Robert Grant and Belle Mills. Early life; immigration to Louisville, Kentucky in 1839; conversion to Mormonism, 1840; life in Nauvoo, Illinois; exodus west; death of his first wife due to exposure in 1847; return to the East, 1848; marriage to Beulah Chipman, 1848; her death in 1851; marriage to Mary Hunsaker, 1852; mission to Great Britain. (Part of the Adams Camp Collection, Daughter of the Utah Pioneers.).
